The above question was asked a few months ago, and I used it for a long blog post on my webcomic Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong’s website. Here’s a quote to get you started:
“So here’s an awful truth: if you pursue ANYTHING, be it comics, writing, movie-making, acting, piracy or clog dancing to a professional level, if you seek to make this one thing your life’s work, you will meet people along the way who will discourage you from making a thing you love into a thing you do well  and a thing you (possibly) do for money. I’m not talking about Random Internet Idiots who like to hide behind anonymity and snipe at you that your comics suck, I’m talking about respected industry professionals, people whose opinions are worth your time, telling you that your work suuuuuuuuuuucks and you should probably reconsider your quest to become a professional artist.”

Two scraps I found on my harddrive while digging around for other stuff. A Supergirl commission from DCAF a while back, and a doodle of Leon from Resident Evil 4 looking unimpressed by getting splattered with zombie blood. omg i love you Leon call meeeeee!

An idea I had for a “short” comic (like 50 pages, short for me) about a father and daughter travelling across a devastated United States. And then TWIST ENDING! (No, they weren’t dead all along, shut up). I will probably never get to draw this comic, but I can still do a character sketch. :D

A drawing of Maggie and Lucy from Friends With Boys, under a special tree in a certain graveyard. This was sold at a silent auction at the ALA Annual I went to at the end of June … hope someone gave it a good home!

The photos are of the actual graveyard in Halifax. It’s a big droopy tree and then you go underneath it, and you find even more gravestones. Love this graveyard.

A rare single-plumed hipster I spotted in the wilds of Halifax on Saturday! You don’t normally see them with that long single hair piece, and note the unusual colouring! Truly a sight to behold.

I did a doodle of Marrow (from X-Men … for like 2 seconds) at the coffeeshop tonight. I am weirdly attached to Marrow … AND I’M DONE MY GRAPHIC NOVEL!!! Finished drawing it yesterday, all 280 pages. It’s the longest GN I’ve done yet, and I think you guys will love it when it comes out in Spring 2013. It’ll be published by the same publisher that published Friends With Boys, First Second Books and it’s called Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong. Yay!!!!!
