Hey guys, letting you know that I’ll be at New York Comic Con next weekend! I’ll be there all day Friday and Saturday morning and there will be an announcement for a SUPER SEKRET PROJECT that I’ll be working on for 2013! Woo.
I also have a quick signing at the First Second booth at 11:30AM on Saturday. They will have copies of Friends With Boys and Brain Camp for sale, so please come and buy one, and I’ll be happy to draw a little sketch in your book for you. I’m also happy to sign any copies of any other comics of mine you might have.
Hope to see everyone there!!! I’m so excited for this project to be announced; it’ll be fun to get to actually talk about it, finally. *_*
Hey guys, two things coming up: I will be at Fan Expo in Toronto this coming weekend (I’ll be there the whole time, Thursday-Sunday), so if you’re going, please come say hi. I’ll be at table P70 along with a bunch of my Canadian comic bros. I’ll be selling copies of Friends With Boys and my self published Superhero Girl collection as well as some prints of various sizes and original artwork (for CHEAP!). I might also take commissions, which is something I don’t normally do, so if you want a custom original artwork from me, it’s now or never. ;)
I will also be on a panel on Sunday, Creating Comics for Younger Readers at 12pm in room 717, along with a bunch of other comicky folk.
ALSO, Bigfoot Boy, the kids’ graphic novel I drew with writer J.Torres is out about now, and we’ll be having a little get together for it at Toronto’s Little Island comic shop Sunday August 27th at 4pm. If you are a small child or have small children or know of small children, this is a great comic for them, so I hope you come by.
So next week is the American Library Association Annual in Aniheim, California (June 22nd - 25th) and I will be there! I’m guessing there aren’t many librarians on tumblr, but I’m posting this info here anyway. ;)
ALA has an Artists’ Alley (it’s new; last year was the first time they had one) and I have a table (#474). I’m not really bringing much to sell as my publisher First Second will be there, but I’ll have some original artwork for people to look at (see how my comic pages look before they’re scanned into the computer and made all pretty!), free bookmarks and … well, I’ll be there, so you can talk to me about stuff. ;)
(Oh yeah, and with this trip, I’ll actually be IN THE STATES when the finale of Legend of Korra airs! I actually get to watch the show on TV!!!! Very excited.)
I’m putting my schedule under a cut, because it is loooong. I’m on some AMAZING sounding panels tho! Seriously, I have a *spotlight panel*!!! ooh, I feel all fancypants. (Also there’s some info on the local convention Animaritime which I’m doing the weekend after ALA behind the cut.)
Before starting work on SPERA 3.1 i drew the main characters of this issue (Lono, Pira and Adel) using the character guide that wonderful Afu Chan had drawn.
