TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Festival) comics! They are pretty silly, but I wanted to say that I had a really wonderful time at TCAF. I got to see some awesome comic peeps and the response to my comics (Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong debuted there) was AMAZING. So many people saying they loved my work! It was a bit overwhelming, actually. ^^;;

Thanks to everyone who came by my table & came to my panels. Thanks to the wonderful organizers and volunteers who make TCAF an inspiring comics festival! Whenever I am at TCAF, I see nothing but good things for comics, which is pretty much the best feeling you can ever have about this thing I have made my career, my life, my passion. 

Also, love to my boyfriend Tim, who has been to four previous TCAFs with me as support. Hopefully next year we’ll be exhibiting together as a comics couple. ;)

EDIT: Okay, Tumblr does not like me posting a comic that large, so go to Tor.com to read the whole thing! Tor.com had me down to do another comic, this time one about the Toronto Comic Arts Festival I went to recently. Usually when I do comic convention comics they’re pretty dumb, but TCAF is an important event for comics (read the comic to learn my opinion as to why), so I wanted to do something a little more serious. And then I met Jeff Smith and well … the drawings, they are pretty accurate. I totally lost my freakin’ mind, man. XD

TCAF 2012!!

So this past weekend, my boyfriend Tim and I flew out from what is (very nearly) the butt end of Canada (Halifax, Nova Scotia) to Toronto for the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. It’s my 4th time at TCAF as an exhibitor. It was also the very first comic convention I exhibited at, so it has a special place in my heart. It is also where I tend to get SICK as a dog, which happened last year, and I was sick a couple days before the show, so I was little apprehensive … Also, Jeff Smith, creator of Bone and pretty much the man whose comics shaped young wannabe comic maker Faith was going to be there. He’s a big deal to me, and I was determined to meet him.
I’m going to put everything behind a cut because the report is quite long and there are lots of pictures, so click to hear about my adventures and whether or not I met Jeff Smith. XD

So the Toronto Comic Arts Festival is this weekend, and I will be there. I have a table, and you can come visit me and talk to me about comics and maybe even buy stuff from me. I’ll have my recently published graphic novel Friends With Boys for sale, as well as my self published Superhero Girl book. I think I’ll also have a couple copies of The War at Ellsmere, but I won’t have copies of Zombies Calling or Brain Camp. However, if you already have copies of those (or other books) that you’d like drawn in, come visit me and I’ll do a doodle in ‘em for you. Oh yeah, and I’ll also have buttons! Come buy a button, buttons rule.
